Description:

Twisted Pixel Games is seeking a highly motivated and talented Visual Effects Artist capable of authoring stylized and high-quality visual effects. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of various visual effects programs and possess the ability to solve technical problems to achieve desired results. The candidate will contribute a high level of creativity and personality, have a team-oriented collaborative approach to development, and is interested in doing what it takes to make the best games possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop high quality visual assets, materials and particle systems for a variety of gameplay and cinematic scenarios
  • Create Visual Effects, both with or without concept art while maintaining a given style across a variety of assets
  • Create memory efficient texture assets using programs like Adobe Photoshop, Substance Designer, Houdini or other industry standard authoring programs
  • Assist with advanced material creation and post process effects as needed
  • Work closely with the Art and Design teams to ensure the highest quality assets are delivered to required specifications
  • Participate in meetings to discuss the implementation of visual effects for the purpose of messaging gameplay concepts and meeting our visual goals
  • Model inclusive behaviors to help build and support a diverse organization that values, respects, and taps into different backgrounds and perspectives

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of game industry experience creating effects
  • Proficiency in Unreal Engine 4, Unity, PopcornFX or similar
  • Experience authoring original textures and assets for use in visual effects design
  • Demonstrated time management skills (for assigned tasks) and the experience to handle large workloads efficiently
  • Proactive about making things happen, and a drive to continue to learn and grow as an artist
  • Proven communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Maya, Substance Designer, Houdini, and Photoshop
  • Have shipped at least 1 console / PC / VR title as VFX artist
  • Experience creating 3D assets and materials in Maya, Houdini or another 3D package as needed to support effects
  • Familiarity with lighting in game, material creation, and post effects
  • Experience authoring effects for VR
